So, it is true that Halloween unfortunately is associated with words such as: dark, scary, evil, spooky, etc. (we probably should throw the word ‘cavity’ in there also)! However, as strange as the holiday certainly is, Halloween must be viewed as more than just eating an excessive amount of sugar, visiting haunted houses, or attending costume parties. Halloween should also be an opportunity to spend time with family, friends, and neighbors participating in fun and wholesome entertainment. I realize that the word ‘wholesome’ and ‘Halloween’ are not exactly synonymous with each other, but the culture, traditions, and activities of the masses should not also dictate our actions! Halloween is thus the perfect opportunity to have good clean fun, create wonderful memories, help serve others, and most importantly – allow us the opportunity to spend time with family.

Below I have listed just 7 of the many fun Halloween games that are good, uplifting, wholesome … and extremely FUN!

1) Halloween Scavenger Hunt: Divide everyone playing into teams of 2-3 players each. Each team will need a car, camera, and copy of the tasks to be completed. The goal is to either be the first to complete all the tasks and get back to the house first, or be the one who completes the most after an hour. (For smaller children, adapt the tasks to things to do/find around the house). Examples of random items to get and tasks to do may include: trick or treat 5 houses, buy a pumpkin and carve a face, give a candy to 3 random kids, go to the video store and find the date a Halloween movie was made, go to the grocery store and find out how much a pumpkin costs, go to a grave yard and write the name of one of the tomb stones, knock on a random door and ask for a roll of toilet paper and then wrap another teammate like a mummy, etc. They can be anything … but to prove you did it, take a photo for each task.

2) Halloween Charades: Each guest at the Halloween party will take 3 slips of paper and write down random acts (ideally related to Halloween) that can be acted out. Examples might include: trick or treating, carving pumpkins, eating candy and feeling sick, flying on a broomstick, visiting a scary graveyard, walking like a mummy, crossing paths of a black cat, attending a dress up party, etc. Place all the slips into a bowl and then divide everyone into two teams. Team 1 will start and send one person to the front, who will have one minute to act out as many scenes as possible. The team will guess, and the teammate acting can’t move on to the next word until it is correctly guessed. After a minute, that team gets one point for every correctly guessed acted scene. Then, team 2 will take a turn. The first team to 20 points wins!

3) Pumpkin Quarter Toss: In preparation, carve the middle out of 5 pumpkins. Then, place them at varying distances (each a few feet away from each other). Then designate a throwing line that player will toss from, and divide everyone into two teams. For each turn, every person on the team will get one toss. If the quarter lands in the closest pumpkin, it is worth 1 point; if it lands in the next farthest pumpkin it is worth 2 points; etc. up to 5 points. The first team to score 50 points is the winner!

4) Scary Story Succession: After the trick or treating is done and the party has died down, sit around the family room and turn the lights off. One person will start and take about 30 seconds telling a scary story. At the 30 second mark, they will leave the story hanging and call someone else’s name, who will then continue the story making up new twists. After 30 seconds, they will call someone else’s name, and this continues – and get’s very funny. Otherwise, have one person start and tell a story for about a minute. Then, everyone will take 30 seconds and make up their own ending to that story. Each person takes a turn telling their version of the ending, and everyone will vote as to which one they like the best. Players can’t vote for their own story’s ending, but a person receives a point for everyone who voted for their ending. Start again with a new person starting a story, and the person who scores 10 points first wins!

5) Halloween Pumpkin Hunt: This game takes a little preparation, but is extremely fun. Hide pumpkins around the yard – or for older teens, hide pumpkins randomly around the town. Then, write down clues that will lead teams from one pumpkin to the next. Divide everyone into two teams or teams of 3-4 people each (thus there pumpkins hidden for each team). The first team to find and retrieve all the pumpkins and get back to the house first is the winner.

6) Pumpkin Bocce: Set a large pumpkin in the middle of the yard (park or open field). Then, each player will need their own smaller pumpkin. Standing about 30 feet away, each player will take a turn rolling their small pumpkin and trying to get it closest to the large pumpkin. The closest player receives 3 points, and the next closest receives 1 point. Then, the person who was closest chooses another spot (but can choose to be close or far away from the main pumpkin), and this repeats. The first person to score 20 points is the winner!

7) Halloween Relay: Begin by dividing everyone playing into two equal teams, and make sure you have a lot of pumpkins because some will break. This relay has many legs/stages. For stage one: line up as a team and the first person will pass the team pumpkin over their head to the person behind who will pass it under their legs to the next teammate, etc. Once the last person gets it, they will run to the front of the line and repeat this. The team that gets the first person who started back to the front of the line first wins that leg and gets a point. For leg two: first team to gut and clean 3 pumpkins first. Leg three: designate a starting line and middle line about 30 feet away. The first person must roll the team pumpkin to the middle line and back, tag the next teammate, and then they must do the same. The first team to finish gets a point. Be creative and make up many more legs – the first team to 5 points wins!

Have Fun!

Teen Birthday Party and Celebrations for Teenager Party

Planning a teen birthday party is different to planning a party for a younger child. For a start it is not always easy to get your teen to talk about any interests they may have and so using a theme is not as clear-cut as it was in the past. Another thing you should bear in mind when planning a teen birthday party is whether they are young teens or older teens.

Some teenage birthday party themes that work well are based around popular TV programs or a book or movie character. One theme that some mothers have used and which proved to be a popular theme for a teenager birthday party is a detective theme. This theme works well when it works with the traditional who done it, murder mysteries such as those written by Agatha Christie.

When you order personalized teen birthday party invitations, you can include in the custom text that the teen birthday party guests dress up in some way so that they represent different characters in a story. Before the guests arrive you can ensure that the clues to the mystery are hidden in different areas of the house. Once guests arrive at a detective teen birthday party then you can start the story off and send them away to look for the clues. You can choose whether food should be served before the search gets going or after the ‘mystery’ has been solved. Nibbles and other finger foods are often popular with teens as they prefer to pick at things over a period of time – even when they are searching for clues perhaps?

If you are holding a teen birthday party during the summer then perhaps a beach party would be a good idea although you would need to ensure that is well chaperoned – beach parties that get out of hand can be dangerous. A teenage birthday party on the beach could include some beach games and perhaps a BBQ followed by some fireworks and a bonfire. If you don’t have a beach nearby, you can use the same theme for a teen pool birthday party. You could always get some sand delivered which could be put down near the pool or in a specific area of the backyard.

Many mothers are at their wits end when it comes to planning a teenager birthday party. This particular age group is notoriously hard to please and an over consumption of television programs and computer games have added to this. However, these can also provide ideas for a particular theme, perhaps based on a TV reality show such as Survivor or American Idle star. You might be able to get the teen birthday party guests to dress for a particular part at this type of teenager party – and they are sure to enjoy an evening of fun and games based around this.

Trying to keep secrets from a teenager is not an easy task and you will probably need some outside help if you intend holding a teen surprise birthday party. It is a good idea to enlist the help of your teenager’s friends if you want to provide something that will please them all. Whatever you decide, it is probably easier to keep quiet about a teenager surprise birthday party if you hire somewhere for the party to take place.

Here are some helpful hints when planning and organizing for a teen birthday party:

 * Don’t make it a surprise party unless you know that your teen will not feel intimidated by it. Teens fear that if the parents do something embarrassing and spoil their image so they want to be involved.

 * Make the central theme of the party ‘food’ since boys, at this age, generally are always hungry at this age.

 * Remember the ‘4-W’ decisions: What, Where, When, Whom. Always let your teenager make these choices.

 * Keep you distance at the party since teens are often embarrassed by their parents and their funny, old-fashioned ways. However, be sure and not leave entirely unless you want to run the risk of your house resembling a riot area.

 * Since it is your teen’s birthday, easy up on the rules a wee bit so he thinks the day is special. Allow the music to be a bit loud and hope your neighbors understand.

Self-esteem and confidence can go a long way during your teenage years and beyond. The question is how can this be accomplished? The answer is many faceted and it starts with the family/teachers/roll models, as these are the areas that are most active in a child’s life during the formative years. So this is where self-esteem gets its basis and roots for the teenager and beyond years.

Teen self-esteem is quite fragile; just having a feeling of being left out, or seeing themselves as weird, or to have feelings they can’t seem to make or keep friends, or they feel like they aren’t much of an athlete, or could have some learning problems, or just feels significantly different from their peers; whatever the situation they feel they have, it is real to them and contributes to how they see themselves and then this is how they view and feel their self-esteem.

Visualization has been around for years and been very active in the adult population and now it is being introduced into the teen and adolescent community as a powerful tool to assist them through their years of transition into adulthood.

Sometimes it is difficult to get the teens attention and get them to do productive habits to better their lives and perspective on life. One thing that grabs their attention is action formats; hence, Vision Map Videos, which have the action, the pictures, the positive affirmations and the music. These can be made to the persons individual wants, needs, music, images that they can individually relate to, and they will find them empowering and entertaining at the same time.

Vision boards have been around forever, and they are also a great tool, however, there is a real process to cutting out the images etc.; and then getting a teenager to visualize and concentrate on the board everyday, it takes a very motivated teenager to do and want to do this on a regular basis. But with the Vision Map Video the music can be their favorite kind, it can be pictures that interest them and affirmations that motivate them, so they will find it fun to watch this on a regular basis and when they find how good it makes them feel, it will be a fun task. Also they can watch it on any of their electronic devises and in privacy, only their eyes to see; not a board that is out for everyone to see.

There are so many in the teen population that have challenging issues, who could have been abused, teased and put down, mentally, emotionally, physically hurt; they deserve the chance to believe in themselves and to develop a sense of self confidence; self respect and self worth. It is so great that a tool has been made available that can break through all those attitudes, fears, barriers, resistance and help them to tell and feel a new story to build their self-esteem.

It is our responsibility as parents/teachers/religious sectors/roll models to assist the teens to be all they can be and to use all the powerful tools that are out there to assist them to change the way they think, feel and behave. It is a challenge growing up and with all the peer pressure, possible self-doubt, feelings of low self worth and humiliation that can dominate our teens’ thoughts it is our job to give them all the tools we can to assist an easier transition into adulthood.

Some teens spend the majority of their day trying to be accepted. What if there were a way you could help your teen improve self-esteem and feel good about who they are, and the best part accomplish this in a fun and entertaining way, find and research these fun and effective ways to better a teens life.

For a variety of reasons it’s difficult for most people to imagine themselves enjoying spectacular success. The majority of individuals tend to assume that amazing stories of personal success are reserved for other people.

This is pretty bizarre and unreasonable when you think about it. We’re all “other people” from someone’s perspective, right?

A great technique for shifting your perspective is to put yourself in the center of your favorite success stories. Imagine how it would feel to make your first million dollars, win a bodybuilding competition, become a best-selling author, or attain whatever victory meets your ideal of true success.

The reality is you are every bit as capable of great success as any other person on the planet. You might need additional training, education, or experience to get from where you are now to where you’d rather be, but these are all things you can acquire with a small amount of time and commitment.

In my late teens and early twenties I had the privilege of training with a world-class martial arts master; the assistant instructor was also a national champion. Everything about the school and the system vibrated excellence. Both of my instructors had a saying for putting their incredible talents into perspective: “I’ve got two arms and two legs just like you.”

The implication is pretty simple. It’s much like the old cliché that even our heroes “put their pants on one leg at a time”. Individuals who exhibit extraordinary success in any field are human beings; they don’t have any magical powers and they’re not blessed with supernatural abilities.

It’s important to recognize and accept this fact. Resist the urge to make excuses and point out how the successful people you read about all have some kind of unfair advantage over you; i.e. better genetics, a wealthy family, a better childhood, or whatever.

The time-honored tradition of defending mediocrity with excuses about such advantages goes back at least to ancient Greece. In those days the heroes from the culture’s favorite stories were all the children of Zeus or some other deity, the idea being that no mere mortals could be capable of such bravery and skill.

Modern-day excuses are less elaborate but every bit as far-fetched.

While some athletes may be blessed with genetic talents, disciplined training will always overcome natural ability. Many champion competitors, including the great Michael Jordan, were not gifted at an early age with their winning capabilities.

And the overwhelming majority of wealthy entrepreneurs do not come from old money, or wealthy families. Far and away more business superstars come from middle class and even poor homes.

When you open your eyes and take an honest look at the folks who are living the success you crave you’ll find they are very much like you. By this token there is absolutely no good reason whatsoever to deny yourself the thrill and triumph of excelling in your chosen field.

Merry Christmas to my love!
Enjoy the holiday!
Revel where the angels move,
Rejoice in what they say!
Years burn life down to a stub;
Christmas comes and goes.
Happiness lies at the nub,
Refuse of one’s woes.
Inside the husk there is the seed,
Shivering with glory;
The midnight cold, the dire need,
Mere setting for the story.
All the labor, loss, and pain
Sings of beauty born again.

SING OF THE HOLIDAYS THAT END THE YEAR

Sing of the holidays that end the year!
Each cause for celebration and reflection.
As darkness rules the earth, sing of good cheer,
Sustained by will and nourished by affection.
Of Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year’s Eve,
Now sing that you might magnify the light!
Sing, for in your joy you will believe,
Granted grace throughout the bitter night.
Rekindle for these reckonings the fire
Each carries as a favor to the heart,
Eloquent of rapture and desire,
Twin grounds of both sincerity and art.
In quest of fellowship and common feeling,
Needing company, nor care concealing,
Giving and receiving equal measure,
Sing, then, of passion, faith, and simple pleasure!

MY LOVE IS SOMETHING SEPARATE

My love is something separate
From what we say or do.
Though we may have it out with words,
I’m still in love with you.

Just as waves ignore the rocks
On their way to shore,
And keep on coming even if
They see what lies in store,

So I will come, no matter what,
And break, and come again,
And break against your wilderness
Beyond all joy and pain.

THE PAIN WILL NEVER GO AWAY

The pain will never go away;
The wound will never heal.
The evil that was done to you
Is now your eyes, your heart.

The black will never turn to gray;
The blood will not congeal.
The violence is never through;
The past does not depart.

Time will merely make you whole,
Consuming what you are:
Part sufferer, part comforter,
Part victim, part new song;

Part mother of an angry soul,
Part child of despair,
Part witness and part conqueror
Of all that did you wrong.

YOUR SAY DOES NOT DERIVE FROM WHAT YOU SAY

Your say does not derive from what you say.
A child hears the one most often here,
And loves the one whose love’s most often near.
You must have known that when you went away.
The power lies with those who choose to stay,
For parents rule by love far more than fear,
And children follow those they hold most dear.
It takes far more than will to have your way.
And now you want to tell me what to do,
Not having earned the right through years of love
But claiming the authority of seed;
While I will give precisely what is due,
Returning love to those who loving prove;
Serving those who long have served my need.

SECULAR CELEBRATIONS SEEM SO SPARE

Secular celebrations seem so spare,
Even with religious ancestry,
As though the brick beneath what had been there
Stood unadorned where stuccoed grace should be.
Old prayers and praises now sound insincere,
No longer fitting where but reason reigns.
‘Tis the season, nonetheless, for cheer;
Scoured of mystery, mystique remains.
God aside, the dark still turns towards light;
Revolving Earth still tilts into the sun;
Each gift of breath still fills one with delight;
Each child is still all being new begun.
The miracles one celebrates are questions
Implying answers too remote to know.
Nor need one not have faith in the directions
Given those whose fate it is to go
Step by careful step towards what is so.

CHARLIE

Charlie is my golden, longhaired sin.
His eyes tell all his dark brown chocolate thoughts.
All he wants is loving without end,
Ravenous for touching of all sorts.
Left on his own, he cannot comprehend
In lonely misery how I defend
Even just one breath away from him.
Watch the video related to Teen story

Allison Brustofski sings one of the most beautiful songs ever written – Somewhere from West Side Story. Music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. © 1956. This arrangement was a hit for the amazing Barbara Streisand in 1985. NOW AVAILABLE ON ITUNES! itunes.apple.com ALSO AVAILABLE ON RHAPSODY! mp3.rhapsody.com “There are so many reasons to love this song, but I like it most of all because it’s about hope. Thanks to Max, Steve, and Jordan at Clearcut Studios in New Jersey for …

If you find yourself and your family in need of additional space, you might want to consider adding a second story to your home. Sometimes it makes more sense to grow upward rather than outward. There are a number of considerations that should be part of your decision about whether to add a room to the side or the back of your house or to add a second story to your home.

The Benefits of Adding a Second Story to Your Home<br />

One benefit of “growing upward” is that you don’t have to move to acquire additional space. If you like the location of your home, especially if your property has enhancing advantages, adding a second story is a very popular way to obtain the additional space without losing the neighborhood features you love. Enhancing advantages might include a view of water or a view of mountains; it might be the quality of the local schools or proximity to community amenities; it might be some family history that attaches to the house; or it might just be in the “in” area.

Another benefit of adding a second story to your home is that it provides the opportunity to modernize your home or to “lighten and brighten” by opening some spaces, adding windows, achieving higher ceilings, and the like. The addition of a second story on a ranch home can radically change the exterior appearance of the home.

Third, adding a second story provides unlimited opportunity to design the interior space of the second floor to meet your specific needs. For example, if you already have lots of windows in the house, you might want a darker space that can become a home theater. If you have a musician in the family, you might want to soundproof one of the rooms. If there is a photographer, you can design a space specifically for the needs of a darkroom. If you are adding bedrooms for your children, you might want to connect the bedrooms with a study. The possibilities are endless!

Fourth, adding a second story provides the chance to make some changes to the first floor and relatively lower additional cost. Do you love spiral staircases? When the roof comes off, you can use one to provide access to the second floor. It will also add interest to the first floor.

Some popular features

The potential for adding the features you want or need in this new space are endless. Here is a list of some of the features that are very popular today.

•	A home theater room – Build in your HD Wide Screen television, add the kind of comfortable seating your family likes, add a small kitchenette for cold drinks and popcorn, and mount your Surroundsound speakers.

•	A hobby or craft room – If you pursue a hobby or you are a crafter, even a seamstress, you might want a space where you can leave your work out and close the door to hide your mid-project mess.

•	A play room for the kids – You can even build in cabinets and shelves for toys, games, etc.

•	Extra bedrooms – One of the most common reasons for adding a second floor is to have more bedroom space and an additional bathroom.

•	A teen suite or an in-law suite – There comes a time when teens want their own space. Your new second story is the perfect place to create a special suite of rooms (sitting room, bedroom, and bathroom) just for them. You can also create a spacious and comfortable in-law suite. Adding a small kitchen would create an entire apartment for parents or in-laws.

What about the cost?

You will probably find it more expensive to add a second story than to add a room or two on the ground floor. Adding to the ground floor is far less complicated and requires less modification to the existing structure. However, you probably will not be able to add as much space by adding a ground floor room. Further, the size of your lot and the local “setback” requirements may prohibit an addition of the size you need.

Is this a do-it-yourself project?

The short answer is that if you are not an architect, a contractor, a builder, or a structural engineer, it is probably NOT something to try to do yourself. Here are a few of the considerations:

•	Do you know the local zoning, construction, and land use and elevation specifications?

•	Do you know how to design a second story that will look like it is a natural part of the house and fits in with the neighborhood?

•	Are you competent to assess the ability of the footings, the exterior walls and the interior supports to handle the additional weight?

•	Do you know how and where to position the stairs that will provide access to the second floor? Do you know how to do this in a way that enhances the first floor?

•	Is the foundation strong enough to carry the extra weight?

•	Are you competent to do the plumbing work and connect to the existing plumbing?

•	Are you competent to install electrical wiring and fixtures safely? And do you know whether you need a new main line and breaker box?

•	If you want to act as your own contractor and hire people to do the things you don’t know how to do, here are some questions to ask:

1.	Do you have the time to devote to micro-managing this project?

2.	Do you know how to keep each step of the process on schedule so you are not paying people to stand around waiting to be able to do their part of the job?

3.	Do you know what kinds of permits and inspections are required by your municipality?

4.	Do you have the available time to spend investigating the people you will need to hire to each type of work?

These are just some of the questions you will need to ask. The first step in the decision, however, will be to check on the building and zoning codes for your area. Before you talk to an architect or a contractor, you will want to know what you can or cannot do. From there, the sky is the limit – perhaps literally!

A friend of mine told me a story about his experience with Allergic Reactions, which I want to share with you.

When we were teens working our first jobs, waiting tables at a private school in the summer, when scientists would come from the world over to have conferences, study, and get fed three times a day, we witnessed the more extreme cases of allergic reactions when a scientist asked if there were any shellfish in the fare we were serving. The stuffing of the meat, it turned out, had shredded something—crab or lobster—and the man swelled, turned red, and had to be rushed to the hospital. What is most frightening, I think, is that such allergic reactions can include the tongue swelling. Think about it. If your tongue swells too far, it will block your breathing passages. You’re done.

In my case, many years after my fear that we had killed an important person—who showed up unshaken the next morning, by the way—it turns out I had allergic reactions to soy products: I loved to (and was so lazy about cooking that I would) eat raw hot dogs. At the same time, I was experimenting with health food store items and had drunk a big glass of soy milk. Imagine: an innocuous little thing like a bean….

I have, in my third and fourth decades of living, discovered some of the most unusual of allergic reactions and have learned the most interesting of realities about allergies. The education began when I was teaching my second semester of college English. As one up to that point who rarely missed a day of work, I was appalled to find one very early summer morning that I had an enflamed face and that every pore on my face had filled with a blister—a tiny pustule that was, as if the redness wasn’t enough, itchy.

When I went to the clinic (not yet having medical coverage of any kind), the clinician seemed nonplussed. She told me with a shrug that 1) I would have to experiment by isolating foods in my most recent diet until I found the culprit (since I had not changed laundry or body soaps didn’t add any chemicals or perfumes to my repertoire, etc.); and 2) I had developed these allergic reactions—or allergic symptoms—all of a sudden…that my perfect health record of many years had nothing to do with the fact that as we get older, she said, we can pathogenically change: we can develop allergies to foods we have eaten our whole lives.

Allergic reactions as I describe are no big deal, really; and a tube of Benadryl cream and a Benadryl capsule (which makes you sleep, so watch out) are all that were needed. But other allergic reactions are hideous, drastic, and emergent. Many require immediate medical attention, as they are deadly…or, the allergens causing the allergic reactions are.

There are paid surveys for teens everywhere online, but locating the teenager survey sites that basically pay you what you are worth is getting tougher. This isn’t to assert that there are not a lot of them, because there are.

You just demand a easy-to-follow strategy of locating them. I know exactly the easy way to learn about these paid surveys for teens and the teenager survey sites that are filled with income creating prospects. There aren’t a lot of things that I am intrigued about sufficiently about to start writing. This is just so basically is one of the issues that I could not wait to share.

Why, is that? Well I was very uninterested in witnessing so many men and girls struggle to discover lucrative paid surveys for teens. It seems like each teenager survey site people were signing on to were poorly paying and not worthy of their time. Yet these individuals were unfortunately, continuing to consume weeks and weeks of work at these places.

I wish this to change. You’ll discover paid surveys for teens that pay top greenback. There are such a lot of excellent teenager survey sites on the web, yet no one is discovering many of them. Are you wanting to grasp “why” the public are not discovering them? It’s easy. It’s because they attempt to uncover them by using some standard search engine skill. This just it is not cutting it. All you end up with is this appalling list of sites that look lucrative, yet almost never measure up to your expectancies. What you need is a technique to find “exactly” where folks are earning the most cash filling out paid surveys for teens. How do you discover this information? You discover it by snooping around on some of the larger forums on the Internet. They’re positively acceptable for discovering teenager survey sites that are lucrative.

The explanation being because big forums are most always bloated to the splitting point with stories on the subject. You can scan these subjects to find where folks all around the globe are earning the most money. You can discover which sites pay you the most and which ones will be a waste of your valued time.

It’s straightforward and it removes such a lot of the grunt work out of it for you. It can be quite easy to discover paid surveys for teens that pay the top greenback, but you would like to enjoy a tiny detour to help pinpointthe teen survey sites that help get the job finished.

Planning a teen birthday party is challenging because it is difficult to know what today’s teens love doing. You want the party of your teenager to be more fun than watching a movie at the mall. How then can you plan a birthday party for a teenager?

The following are themes that have been tried and tested by moms out there. Along with the appropriate decoration ideas, games, activities and invitations, these two themes for a teen’s birthday party are the most popular.

1. The Detective Party

Here, teenagers engage in a Search and Riddle theme party. This is a take on a Murder in a Party consisting of a game asking “Who am I?” and the second a longer one because it is a Treasure Hunt.

You wouldn’t need much with this party. To prepare for a Detective theme, all you need to do is be inspired by those “who done it” murder mysteries. Once you have a story going on then you can incorporate all these ideas and let the teens join in by asking them to solve the mystery.

It’s not scary. It wouldn’t give the teenagers any nightmare after playing the Detective game. In fact, it’s fun when played in the evening because the darkness adds more to the excitement.

As for the clues, you can hide these inside the house. It’s a 90 minute up to two hour party. It depends on how many guests are invited.

2. The Survivor Party

Inspired by the popular reality show, you don’t need to have it playing in the background to show the teenagers because chances are they have already seen an episode or two. The main game of the party is different from the show because no one gets voted off. It is fun and friendly competition.

The teenagers are encouraged to use their imaginations and their brains. They are also asked to do a lot of noise and a couple of yucky stuff like eat exotic food. This is suitable if you are planning on hosting a fast paced party.

The preparation time for this party is mostly two hours because you will be needing a lot of food here for the game. A game we suggest that you play is the spin the wheel and then it shows a particular food the teenager will eat.

It is suitable for indoors as well as outdoors. You can also try out for the water-based games.

Sorry if this episode is kind of slow. I basically made it to give background info on characters and all. I promise the second episode picks up A LOT! Anyway this is my very first sims project so don’t be too harsh. If I get some positive feedback I might extend the series. Please remember to rate, comment, & Subscribe!

There’s not one television show that can please all the critics all at once, that’s a fact. Recently, television reviewer for the New York Times, Gina Bellafante wrote an article about One Tree Hill’s fifth season, and in it accusing the coming of age drama of displaying “an almost aggressive aversion to moralizing about teenage pregnancy.” She’s referring to Haley’s (Bethany Joy Galleoti) recent pregnancy, claiming that it “[refuses] to lay out the grim consequences of premature motherhood, [and] wants to make fans on either end of the political spectrum stick their heads in fiery hampers.” With the recent events in the media, including 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy, is One Tree Hill really biased in showing just the joyous side of young motherhood?

Bellafante also took offense to the lack of realism in Haley’s struggles. She wrote, “Haley, a teacher, isn’t applying for food stamps or stripping to keep her child in clean pajamas. She is living instead in a nicely appointed house, dealing with middle-aged problems.”

Bellafante also pointed out that because the show skipped the college years, we did not get to see Haley go through all the struggles of pursuing her education while being a young mother. Bellafante wrote, “we never get to see how Haley balanced psych finals and colic, keg parties and vaccinations, and just having to say no, presumably, to any chance of a junior year abroad in a hedonistic Western European capital.”

Surely, Bellafante has a point. However, we must take into consideration that One Tree Hill is a show that never really thrived in reality. In fact, this series is more of escapist, soapy fantasy. If one wants to watch a show depicting teenagers with real teenage problems, then head over to NBC’s Friday Night Lights.

As for Haley’s struggles, or lack thereof, One Tree Hill may have overlooked this, and all the pieces of Haley’s life may seem unrealistically perfect. Nonetheless Bellafante admits that she can’t resist the addictive nature of the series. “One Tree Hill is a no-arrogance, no-entitlement zone and I’m (shamefully) happy to pull up and park.”
