Free Tutorials & Photo Search Online

You don’t have to be a genius, a trendy up-to-date teen or technologically advanced to figure out how to do certain things online or how to work that new piece of software you just bought. You just have to know where to look! There are billions of tutorials for billions of programs and software out there today. Another thing tutorials are good for is if your building a new website, and say, you want to figure out how to put animations on your site or you don’t have a clue as to how a navigation bar/menu works but you want to put one on your website.

Tutorials are built specifically to show you how to do these things. They teach you how to do something with in a program or how to work the program itself. Just as an example so you can actually see how many people use and or need tutorials, if your go to Google and search “free tutorials”, you will see pages upon pages of sites that offer these things.

These tutorials have easy to follow instructions, and sometimes even movies or illustrations to help you further. Say for instance I just built a really cool gaming website, and I want to figure out how to make my Title into a really neat font so that it “fits” with the style of my website. There are tutorials online that will help me do this. I just have to find the site where the tutorial is, and look up something like “text effects” or “font effects.” Usually with in that category I will find a whole bunch of different fonts that are stylized in a certain way.

You can really find anything your searching for, the sky is the limit on this one. Gold etched, Flower text, Warped text effect, Glow ring, Fire, etc. Obviously they don’t just offer text effects, here are some more options these sites will probably offer, tutorial wise:

3D Effects
Brushes
Buttons & Interfaces
Colors
Filters
Photo Editing
Poster & Ad Design
Web Layouts
Icon Creation
Forum Sigs
and more!

Speaking of Photo’s and layouts, there are also a lot of sites online that offer photographs, for free. I’m always looking for things like this because I have a website online where I’m constantly in need of pictures of food and drink items. You can use these photographs completely free of charge and in some instances they aren’t even copy written, so you can use them in whatever way you want to.

There’s a few websites I know about in particular that have anywhere from 500-15,000 photos you can use, and they are directly on the website. All you have to do is a quick search and you find everything you need. You can use these as pictures with in a layout for web design options, on your website, your blog, etc.

All you have to do is either download the photo directly to your hard drive (put it somewhere you can find it) or it will open in a new window for you and you can just right click the picture, goto properties, and find the property url. Either way this is an incredibly easy, fast, and convenient way to find the pictures you need online.

There is a tutorial video series called "1-Brush" or something similar to that. I don't know the instructor's name. It's done by a lady who shows very "do-able" realistic-looking flowers using a 1 brush technique. These videos and books are available at arts & crafts stores (Michael's or JoAnn Etc.)

If you're willing to pay a little money, http://www.lynda.com will be perfect for you. The site provides video training that will both talk and show you through steps in the program, and it's pretty comprehensive. A few videos are free, but others you have to pay for, but you could pay $25 (a lot less than a lot of books) to get a month access.
